FAC connects your ERPNext to AI. Look things up, create and change records, run reports and set up your system by simply saying what you need. Every action stays within your ERPNext permissions.

There are two ways to use it, and you can use both.

FAC Connect: free, open-source MCP server

• Use the AI you already have. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any client that supports MCP. You are never locked into one provider.

• Secure sign-in. Clients connect with OAuth 2, using each person's own ERPNext account.

• 25+ tools:

  • Documents: create, read, update, submit, cancel and amend (document_action).

  • Search and reports: search documents, run reports.

  • Building blocks: DocType metadata, charts and dashboards.

  • Analysis: a sandboxed Python analysis tool.

• Extend it. A plugin architecture lets you add your own tools.

• AGPL-3.0. Read the code, change it, contribute back.

FAC Chat: an assistant inside ERPNext

• Ask in plain words, or by voice in your own language, and get answers from your ERPNext data.

• It asks before it acts. FACO shows what it is about to create or change and waits for your approval.

• Agents that run on their own:

  • How they start: on a schedule, or when a document is submitted or changed.

  • How you build them: start from a template (finance, sales, procurement, manufacturing, HR, projects), build one in the visual builder, or describe it to FACO in chat.

• Set up ERPNext by asking. Built-in setup skills check your site's health and guide configuration. Each one plans, confirms, then makes the change.

• On every Desk page. Open the widget from any form or list, and expand it to the full page mid-conversation without losing your place.

• Knowledge base. Upload your policies and documents, and get answers that cite them (on plans that include it).

• Help when you need it. Raise a ticket from any chat, with screenshots and the conversation attached, and the FAC Support team replies inside the app.

FAC Chat is switched off until an administrator turns it on. Some features depend on your FAC Cloud plan.

Security and control

• Your permissions apply. Tools act as the signed-in user, within that person's ERPNext roles and permissions.

• Powerful tools are restricted.

  • The Python and raw SQL tools are for System Managers only.

  • Python reads are permission-checked and read-only.

  • Raw SQL refuses Frappe's internal tables and returns at most 1,000 rows.

• You choose the tools. Administrators enable or disable each tool from FAC Admin.

• Every call is recorded in the Assistant Audit Log.

• Approvals in FAC Chat. Changes wait for a person to approve them.

• Your data: your ERP data stays in ERPNext, and FAC Chat keeps your conversations on your own site. To answer a question, FAC sends what that question needs to the AI model.

Getting started on Frappe Cloud

1. Install Frappe Assistant Core on your site. It supports Frappe v15 and v16.

2. To use FAC Connect: copy your site's MCP address from FAC Chat's Settings → Connections or from FAC Admin. Add it as a connector in Claude, ChatGPT or another MCP client, then sign in with your ERPNext account.

3. To use FAC Chat: an administrator switches it on in FAC Admin. Then register your site with FAC Cloud from inside the app.
